TEC Legal Transparency Petition
The Episcopal Church's (TEC) continued litigation against parishes and
vestries is a great concern to many in the Anglican Communion. These
lawsuits come at a high price emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Of
special concern is the source of TEC's funding. Where are they getting the
money to sue these churches? Should TEC be open about the amount spent and
the source of their litigation funding? If you are concerned about this
issue and want to do something about it, then click on the provided link or
go to our homepage and sign the American Anglican Council's on-line
petition. Help us bring this issue into the light!

London (ENI). The Church of England's governing general synod has agreed to
support the drawing up of draft code for endorsement by all 38 churches that
belong to the worldwide Anglican Communion, as an attempt to provide a way
of settling internal rows. The code, called a "covenant", would set out the
shared beliefs of Anglican churches and a process for dealing with disputes
between members of the worldwide Anglican grouping. The Archbishop of the
West Indies, Drexel Gomez, told the synod meeting in York, in northern
England, that a covenant was needed because of rifts between Anglican
churches, mainly over homosexuality. [392 words, ENI-07-0530]

Kenyan Anglican church appoints two bishops
for US • ENI Online -
http://www.eni.ch • 3 July 2007
Nairobi (ENI). The Anglican Church of Kenya has appointed two bishops to
oversee a group of clergy and congregations in the United States, amid
continuing tensions between the Kenyan denomination and the US Episcopal
(Anglican) Church over homosexuality. "The Anglican Church of Kenya now
provides episcopal oversight to several dozen congregations in the USA,"
Kenyan Anglican Archbishop Benjamin Nzimbi told journalists at the end of a
26-29 June synod meeting in Nairobi. Nzimbi and other church leaders in
Africa and Asia have been persistent critics of the US Episcopal Church, in
part because in 2003 it consecrated V. Gene Robinson, an openly gay man in a
same-sex relationship, as bishop of New Hampshire. [421 words, ENI-07-0512]
